88TH & VERMONT
Located on Vermont Avenue just south of Manchester Avenue, this development, the first built in Los Angeles with Proposition HHH funding, consists of two buildings that straddle a city alley. The ground floor of the building that fronts Vermont includes a welcoming lobby and community space for the local non-profit, Community Build. In this area, WORKS has provided Community Build with a space that will be used to serve local area residents and their families. For tenants living in each of the buildings, common areas include spacious courtyards with seating, laundry facilities, a BBQ area, offices for tenants’ services and a lounge for after school and other tenant programs. A prominent roof top deck, landscaped with planters and seating areas, sits high above the corner of 88th and Vermont and provides tenants with a relaxing area to look out over the expansive city beyond.
